Resetting Password

With Password Center user portal enrolled end users of the associated identity store can reset their account passwords securely. You can use this option if you have forgotten or lost your existing password. Unenrolled users can only reset their password if the administrator has enabled the Second Way Authentication option for their role.

The Password Center portal provides an authentication mechanism, whereby users must authenticate themselves with Multifactor Authentication type(s) they enrolled their accounts with. After successful authentication, users can reset account password in accordance with the password policies the GroupID administrator has defined for your role in the connected identity store.

What do you want to do?

Resetting identity store account password (enrolled users)

  1. On the Welcome page, click the Reset my password option.
    This launches the Password reset wizard.

  2. To reset the password of an account, type its user name in the User Name box and select the identity store where the account exists from the Identity Store drop down list.

  3. Click Next. You will be directed to a page that shows the authentication type(s) you enrolled this account with.

  4. Authenticate your account using the required type(s).

    • Security Questions
    • Mobile Verification
    • Email Verification
    • Authenticator
    • Link Account
    • PhoneID
    • YubiKey
    • Windows Hello

    On getting authenticated, the Reset My Password page is displayed.

  5. All your linked accounts, if any, are listed in the Select the account to reset their passwords section. Select the check boxes for the account(s) to reset their password(s).

  6. Type your new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes. This password must conform to the password policy displayed beneath your user account name and the password complexity rules defined by the GroupID administrator for the identity store where the account exists.

  7. Type the new password for the selected account(s) in the New password and Confirm new password boxes.

  8. Click Reset Password.

  9. The Reset Password Results page displays the message "Your password has been changed successfully.".

  10. Click OK.

Resetting identity store account password (unenrolled users)

  1. On the Dashboard page, click the Reset my password link.

  2. Select the identity store where the account exists from the identity store drop down list.

  3. To reset the password of an unenrolled account, type its user name in the user name box.

  4. Click Reset Password. You will be directed to a page that shows the second way authentication type(s) the GroupID administrator has enabled for your role.

  5. Authenticate your account using the required types.

    • Security Question
    • Mobile Verification
    • Email Verification
  6. From the above section, follow the steps from 6 - 11 to reset your password.
